This map is of the Woolwich Common Area, where some of our ancestors lived and worked.
This is the southern and lower part of Woolwich Common, where Mum used to play as a child. Turn through 180 degrees and the ha-ha where Mum also used to play and which gives the road its name, runs just this side of the tall hedge. The houses where Mum used to lived were just beyond the flats in the distance.
This is the remains of the Royal Garrison Church. Turn left through about 90 degrees for the Barracks. Grand Depot Road to the left leads down into Woolwich, and to the right to Eltham. The Barracks has the longest Georgian Frontage in the country.
